Thonock Park B&B - Gainsborough

The room was spacious and comfortable, great to enjoy a restful night's sleep. The included breakfast was good, with options to fuel our adventures. Plus, it had a lovely view over the golf course.

The room felt light and airy, with a fantastic shower and a big bed that guaranteed a good night's sleep. I really appreciated the ample parking available and the beautiful view over the golf course from the restaurant. The staff were helpful and catered well to my dietary needs, particularly with gluten-free options, often tough to find. The first impression wasn't great. There was a lack of clear signage in the parking area. The curtain rail in my room was broken, leaving the curtains unable to close fully. Breakfast in the café was a bit chaotic since it was shared with golfers, and it took quite a while for the food to arrive, inconvenient given my schedule. All those factors did slightly detract from the overall experience.

Accessing our room meant taking a separate entrance from the main building, which could be a hassle if the weather wasn't cooperating. There was no fridge in the room, which posed a problem for my husband's insulin, although we managed to store it in the bar overnight. There was some unpleasantness with a drunk customer in the bar, made the atmosphere a bit uncomfortable. The breakfast pricing could use some clarification. We ended up paying extra because of a mix-up with the allowance for the full breakfast.

A lack of clear signage in the parking area made finding the reception unnecessarily challenging!!! The room curtain rail was broken and the toilet's awkward position was less than ideal. It would also help to streamline breakfast service!!!

Really good staff, really good breakfast with lovely options and an excellent golf course view from the dining area. The room was very well presented, clean and equipped with free Wi-Fi and a tv, especially since the nearest airport was only 26 km away.

The bedroom is great, providing a comfortable stay, and the location is ideal, being just next door to a local supermarket. It's situated in a lovely, quiet area, with the Cavendish nearby-a fantastic spot to relax.
